Spring 2021 COVID-19 Testing

Dear Resident,

We hope that your fall 2020 semester was a successful period of learning and personal growth. While we know it was not the semester you might have anticipated, we look forward to you returning to campus housing in the spring.

As we continue to confront the COVID-19 pandemic, the health and safety of our residents is our primary concern. As such beginning on January 11, 2021, all residents will be required to take a COVID-19 test upon moving into their residence hall or apartment. These tests will be conducted with a self-administered nasal swab and analyzed by UT Southwestern’s diagnostic laboratory. These tests will be provided free of charge and details on testing locations and times will be provided to residents before January 11.

In order to make your move-in and testing process smooth, we are asking that you fill out this Proactive Testing Enrollment Form by January 4, 2021. This consent is required and will allow UT Southwestern (our testing partner) the ability to share your results with the UT Dallas COVID response team in a confidential manner.

Please monitor your UT Dallas email during the break for further details, including schedules, sites and other helpful information to assist with your transition.

In addition to the initial testing required to reside on campus for the spring semester, on-campus residents will be enrolled in a pro-active testing program that will test approximately seven-percent of the campus resident population weekly to monitor for asymptomatic, positive cases. Information on this pro-active testing will be provided after the spring semester begins.

Thank you,
